Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo state has lauded President Bola Tinubu for his pro-masses reforms, aimed at creating a sustainable economy for the country.
The governor gave the commendation in Akure on Friday at a Jumat Service to commemorate the 65th Independence anniversary of Nigeria.
Represented by his deputy, Olayide Adelami, the governor highlighted numerous achievements of the Tinubu-led government that are already producing profound results, and impacting the economy positively.
He cited stable foreign exchange, reduction in prices of petroleum products, development of rail and road infrastructure and the new tax regime as part of the concrete steps taken so far.
The governor acknowledged God’s intervention in sustaining peace and harmony in the country in the last 65 years.
“Nigeria at 65 is a testimony of Allah’s mercy. As a country, we have been confronted with severe challenges, yet we remain united as one indivisible entity under one flag. This is not by human power alone, but by divine grace” He said.
He thanked the people of the state for their continued support for his government and the federal government.
According to him, “None of our achievements would have been possible without your trust, support and prayers. I say thank you to the good people of Ondo state. I deeply appreciate you for your commitment to peace and your invaluable contributions to the progress of our state.
“I urge you to continue to intensify your prayers for our administration, for our leaders and for the continued growth of Ondo state and Nigeria as a whole”
In his sermon, Grand Imam of Akure kingdom, Sheikh Abdulakeem Yayi Akorede, charged the people to pray for the government of Ondo state and be positive about Nigeria.
The Service was attended by top government officials, including Secretary to State Government, Dr Taiwo Fasoranti, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Prince Segun Omojuwa, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alh. Amidu Takuro, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Dr. Kola Falohun, among others.
Friday’s Jumat Service marked the beginning of activities lined up for the 2025 Independence Day Celebration in the state.
