The Governor of Ondo State, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on Monday, August 11, 2025, distributed new vehicles to 14 Permanent Secretaries in the state public service.
Governor Aiyedatiwa, during a brief handing over ceremony at the presmises of the Governor’s Office in Alagbaka, Akure, described the event as a “symbolic one”.
The Governor said the gesture, extended to all the 14 permanent secretaries his administration has so far appointed, was to aid them to be more productive and give their best to the civil service.

Governor Aiyedatiwa added that the beneficiaries included four of the permanent secretaries who had retired recently.
TheGovernor said: “I think about 14 of you, the first batch of my permanent secretaries and I know four of you have retired, but because I appointed them, we will not deprive them of that entitlement.

“This is just symbolic to support you, to help you to be more productive, move around, do your job with ease, and to be more efficient.
“That is the support that we can give to you as the leaders of the public service in the state, so that you won’t deliver short and you won’t deliver late.”
The Head of Service, Mr Bayo Philip, appreciated the governor for encouraging civil servants with everything humanly possible to ensure the system is kept running smoothly.

Philip said he was happy that the governor was always working round the clock to ensure that the state continues to move forward.
In her vote of thanks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ondo State Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Mrs Foluke Tunde-Daramola, appreciated the gesture of the governor as part of his agenda of “OUR EASE” .

Tunde-Daramola said the gesture showed that the governor was a good father to the people of the state, adding that it showed he wanted all within the service to be going on smoothly.
“Like you said, you appointed us and I want to tell you, sir, that we’ve been very loyal to that appointment and to your government, sir and we want to assure you that the mandates you’ve given to each and every one of us in our respective MDAs, we will deliver on them,” she said.
