This information emerged when the Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on ICT and in charge of the State Information Technology Agency (SITA), Hon. Tomide Akinribido, paid a working visit to the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy (FMCIDE) in Abuja where he held a private meeting with the Minister, Dr Bosun Tijani.
Hon Akinribido said, “Yesterday (on Tuesday 28th January, 2025) I went on a working visit to the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy (FMCIDE) in Abuja where I held a private meeting with the Honorable Minister, Dr Bosun Tijani.

“During our meeting, I conveyed the greetings of the Ondo State Governor, His Excellency Lucky Aiyedatiwa, to the honorable minister. I also saluted the FMCIDE for their recent synergy with the Ondo state government particularly in year 2024 which led to the hosting of Build-a-thon holiday boot camp, and events such as the stakeholder engagement on national digital economy bill and the 3 million technical talents (3MTT) programme.
“I thereafter briefed the Minister on various achievements of the Governor Aiyedatiwa-led administration in the ICT sector, and other plans of the state government through the state information technology agency (SITA) to encourage local content development, promote a robust indigenous ICT industry and ultimately propel Ondo state into a technologically advanced subregion.”
Responding, the Minister, Dr Bosun Tijani, acknowledged the strides being made by the Ondo state government to increase digital literacy amongst its residents, particularly the various ICT trainings and ongoing efforts to establish innovation hubs in universities within the state.
In support of the state government’s efforts, the Minister immediately pledged to situate a Tertiary Institution Digital Center (TIDC) in Ondo state.
The Governor’s SSA said “Conclusively, we agreed to open discussions on various areas of collaboration which will be contained in a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the federal government and Ondo state government on achieving digital acceleration, expansion of communications infrastructure and deepening of ICT penetration in Ondo state.”
