Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has said that his administration will continue to attract local and foreign investments to boost the economy of the State.

The Governor stated this on Wednesday when he commissioned the Ondo State-owned Sunshine House in Victoria Island, Lagos.

The project, managed by the Ondo State Development and Investment Promotion Agency (ONDIPA), was initiated by former Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and completed by the Aiyedatiwa administration.

Located near Eko Atlantic City, the project aims to generate additional revenue for the State government.

Governor Aiyedatiwa said the commissioning of the project is in fulfilment of his promise to sustain the legacies of late Akeredolu, describing the former Governor as a visionary and a man of integrity.

He said the old structure, inherited from the defunct Western Region, was outdated and unattractive to investors, which prompted the state government, through ONDIPA, to construct a building that represents the new generation.

This development, he added, shows that Ondo State means business and is ready to offer incentives to attract local and foreign investors to the State.

Governor Aiyedatiwa also highlighted the state’s commitment to fostering industrial growth and enhancing infrastructure, including road networks and port development, to support business operations.

Earlier, in welcome address, the Chief Executive Officer of ONDIPA, Mr. Gbenga Badejo, described the project as a development symbol and revenue driver for the state, commending the government’s vision and commitment to creating a business-friendly environment.

Badejo noted the project’s investment value of approximately N3.3billion, with seven
floors, brand new office building, and facilities including kitchenettes, a terrace, reception, gate house, generator house, and waste management system.

The project developer, Akintola Oladejo, highlighted the seamless transition between the late governor and Aiyedatiwa, who completed the project without issues. He affirmed the project’s solidity and benefit to end users.

A former Governor of Ekiti State, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo, in his goodwill message, reflected on his tenure and the significant developments since then and expressed a desire to secure similar benefits for Ekiti.

Adebayo commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for continuing with the legacy projects of the late Akeredolu.

Those present at the event included the Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Akogun Akinwumi Sowore, Special Adviser to the Governor on Infrastructure, Pastor Ayoade Babalola and Special Adviser on Entrepreneurship, Mr. Summy Smart Francis.
