ONDO GOVT APPROVES N3.47B FOR RURAL ACCESS AND AGRICULTURAL MARKETING PROJECT

Approves ‘Light-Up Akure’ Project

-Announces the approval of new Asinigbo of Isinigbo

The Ondo State Executive Council on Wednesday approved the sum of N3.47 billion counterpart funds for the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP).

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Information and Strategy, Hon Olugbenga Omole and Commissioner for Energy, Mines and Mineral Resources, Engr. Razaq Obe both briefed journalists after the State Executive Council meeting in Akure.

The Council noted that the Project would see many feeder roads asphalted to connect rural dwellers to cities and drive the economy of the State through Agriculture, while other life impacting community projects are equally executed.

Also, as part of commitment to transforming Akure, the state capital into smart city, Ondo State government has approved street lighting system via solar-powered light.

The streetlight project was unanimously approved by the Executive Council as part of the agenda of Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa administration’s 21st century paradigm shift for sustainable development in the State.

Meanwhile, the Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa has approved the appointment of Prince Adu Omotayo as the new Asinigbo of Isinigbo in Akure North Local Government area of Ondo state.

In the same vein, the Council also approved the appointment of warrant Chiefs for the purpose of appointing new Afa of Oke-Agbe in Akoko North West Local Government Area.
