At a community stakeholders engagement with the governor at the palace of the Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom, Oba Victor Adesimbo Kiladejo, the monarch commended the developmental strides of the governor.
The monarch said, “We deeply appreciate your honour in appointing me as Chancellor of the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED) and for the various development projects across Ondo State.”
Oba Kiladejo commended the governor for approving the Ita Nla to Awoyaya road project, urging that construction commence promptly. Reflecting on the recent flooding in the area, he added, “Your support during the unfortunate flood was invaluable to our people.”
Addressing the need for infrastructure, the monarch appealed for intervention in township and rural roads, saying, “We hope you will assist with rehabilitating our rural roads, enabling our farmers to bring their produce into town.”
In response, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed his appreciation for the support of the community, noting, “I am truly grateful to see the council area speaking with one voice in support of continuity. The love and commitment shown by the people of Ondo today is overwhelming. I urge you to transform this support into votes on Election Day.”
The governor reassured the monarch that the requests made would be addressed, disclosing that many of the projects are already underway.
During the event, the traditional council offered prayers and blessings for the governor’s success in the election.
Earlier in the day, Governor Aiyedatiwa officially commissioned the revitalised Ife Garage Motor Park in Ondo, one of the projects facilitated by Hon. Peter Abiola Makinde, a member of the House of Representatives, representing Ondo East/Ondo West Federal Constituency.
The Governor commended the developmental initiatives of the lawmaker in the constituency in the last five years.
At Bagbe, the headquarters of Ondo West LCDA, the Oloja of Bagbe, Chief Valentine Omotere, expressed gratitude to the government for providing fertilizers to farmers in the area.
He appealed for more primary health centres, additional healthcare staff, and an increase in teachers for schools across the council area.
