Vechicle Inspection Procedure
ONDO STATE GOVERNMENT
MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT
APPLICATION PROCESS AND GUIDELINES FOR VEHICLE INSPECTION
In pursuant of Ondo State
Road Traffic Law (Ondo State Laws, 2006), vehicle owners are instructed to take
their vehicles for inspection and obtain road worthiness certificate after the
vehicle is deemed roadworthy immediately after the inspection. The vehicle
inspection process is as follows:

STAGE 1:
Vehicle owners are to visit any
of the following government-owned and authorized vehicle testing centres in the
State with their vehicle for examination between 8:00am to 5:00pm (Monday –
Friday, excluding public holidays).
(i)
Akure –
Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO), Opposite Omolere Nur/Pry School, along Ijapo road, Akure.
(ii)
Owo -
Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO), Emure Ile Road, Owo
(iii)
Ondo -
Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO), Oka Road, Ondo Town
STAGE 2:
INSPECTION PROCEDURE AND PAYMENT PROCESSING
STAGE 3:
After payment is made, the vehicle owners proceed to get their vehicles inspected/tested. The inspection/Testing or vehicle will take about 30-45 minutes.
STAGE 4:
- Upon completion of the test, vehicles that passed the inspection test will be issued a PASSED Inspection Report and a Certificate of Road Worthiness within 24 hours.
- If the vehicle fails the inspection exercise, the vehicle will be issued a FAILED Inspection Report within 24 hours and the vehicle owner advised to make required repairs as stated in the Inspection Report.
- After the required repair is made, the vehicle owner can come for are-test/re-inspection at no cost within 30 days from the date on the Inspection report. If the vehicle owner fail to come back for re-test/re-inspection within the 30 days period from the date on the first inspection report, another inspection fee shall be paid.
