ONDO STATE MANDATES MIGRATION TO DIGITAL EDUCATION PORTAL BY DECEMBER 31, 2025

The Ondo State Commissioner for Education, Professor Igbekele Ajibefun, has issued a compulsory directive to all public and private schools operating within the state to immediately migrate all student and operational data to the official Digital Education Portal of the Ondo State Ministry of Education.

The deadline for this crucial migration is December 31, 2025.

Speaking from his office in Akure, the state capital, Professor Ajibefun explained that the establishment of the digital portal is a fundamental step toward digitizing the state’s education sector.

He said, “This digital platform is designed to significantly improve accountability, digitize all school operations, and ensure accurate tracking of every student in Ondo State.”

Professor Ajibefun highlighted several key benefits inherent in the policy, including the assignment of a unified Student Identification Number to every student across the state, which will facilitate seamless admission processes and efficient student transfers. He noted that the policy is crucial to moving the state’s education sector toward data-driven planning, and ensuring equitable resource allocation to schools based on verified data.

The Commissioner strongly urged school administrators to act immediately, saying, “Schools in the state are mandated to log on to the Ministry’s website, www.odsgmoest.org.ng, without delay, to upload and update their data on the platform.”

Professor Ajibefun warned that any school — public or private — that fails to complete the migration to the digital portal by December 31, 2025, will attract strict government sanctions, which may include, but are not limited to, exclusion from participating in national examinations.
