In a bold demonstration of his unwavering commitment to justice and good governance, the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to legal advancement as Ondo State prepares to participate in a high-level legal engagement of the Body of Attorneys General in Johannesburg, South Africa, where the State’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Olukayode Ajulo, SAN, OON, will represent the State.
The international meeting is scheduled to be held from May 12 to 16, 2025. It aims to foster collaboration with legal luminaries, strategic partners, and global leaders in law review, publishing, and regulatory intelligence, toward the modernisation and enhancement of Nigeria’s legal documentation across all states.
Reacting to the development, Dr. Ajulo described Governor Aiyedatiwa’s commitment to the international meeting as a testament to his progressive vision for the legal system and administration of justice in Ondo State. “Under Mr. Governor’s leadership, justice is not just a principle but a practical tool for social order, equity, and the welfare of the people. By ensuring Ondo State’s representation in this strategic engagement, the Governor has reinforced his commitment to the rule of law, legal innovation, and proactive participation in federal reforms.”
The Attorney-General noted that the international meeting is strategic, as Ondo State stands to gain direct access to cutting-edge legal solutions, firsthand insights into modern law publishing processes, and the opportunity to align state laws with global best practices. He emphasised the importance of this partnership, which aims to enhance the publication of the 2004–2024 Laws of the Federation and support similar efforts across Nigerian states.
