Aiyedatiwa Felicitates OSACA at 10, Reaffirms Commitment to Food Security

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo state has congratulated farmers in the state, under the auspices of Ondo State Agricultural Commodities Association (OSACA), as they mark 10 years of existence.

Founded in 2015, OSACA is an umbrella body for agric commodity associations and farmers in Ondo state, aimed at fostering collaboration among farmers, policymakers and other players in the food production chain.

Speaking at an event marking the 10th anniversary of the association in Akure on Tuesday, Governor Aiyedatiwa, who was represented by his deputy, Olayide Adelami, said the state government is proud of the growth and achievements of the association.

The governor commended “OSACA’s efforts in promoting cooperative spirit, capacity building and market access”

He reiterated his administration’s commitment to initiatives that will boost food production, and security of farmers and their farmlands in the state.

In his address, Chairman of OSACA, Chief Abidodun Adejo, said the anniversary was an opportunity to reflect on the progress made so far, and to develop new strategies for maximum impact.

He thanked the state government, leaders and members of the association, who have contributed immensely to its growth over the years.

“As we mark this important milestone, we pay tributes to the visionaries, leaders and dedicated members who have worked tirelessly to build OSACA into the respected associations it is today” Adejo said.

Remarking, Permanent Secretary ministry of agriculture and natural resources, Mrs Foluke Daramola, admonished the leadership of the association to scale up its partnership with government and other agencies for the good of the members.

Speaking to newsmen at the event, Vice-chairman (female) of the association, Ms Taye Afilaka, appreciated the government for its support since inception, calling on all farmers in the state to take advantage of OSACA’s programmes and projects.
