Olatunji Princess Omowumi

Profile of Hon. Princess Omowumi Olatunji-Edet

Hon. Princess Omowumi Olatunji was born on the 15th day of August,1973 at Lagos Olatunji of No. 15, Oke Emesho Street, Akure.

She attended St. Mathias Pry. School, Akure; St. Louis Girls’ Grammar School, Akure; Data Scope Computer Institute; Bible Faith Training Center; the National Teachers’ Institute, Kaduna; the Lagos State University (LASU), Ojoo, Lagos. And the National Broadcast Academy.She holds a Master’s Degree in English Language from the University of Lagos.


Omowumi started her political career as a member of All Nigerian Peoples Party (ANPP). She was a Member of the Board for Youths and Sports, Lagos State Ministry of Youth, Sports and Social Development as well as an elected member of the Lagos State House of Assembly on the platform of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) for two terms representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency II, between 2007 and 2015.


She attended many leadership training programs in Institutions such as Harvard Kennedy School, USA and London Thames Valley University Slough, UK.

Omowumi, is a philanthropist and she has received several outstanding awards. Wumi, is an author and had published three books titled “Casting Stone”, “Butler’s Promise” and “The Shaping of the amazon.”

She likes Reading and Writing.  She is married and blessed with children.

Hon. Princess Omowumi Olatunji-Edet is the Commissioner for Women Affairs & Social Development, Ondo State.

Ondo State is a state in Nigeria created on 3 February 1976 from the former Western State. It originally included what is now Ekiti State, which was split off in 1996. Akure is the state capital.
