Gov. Akeredolu rescues road accident victims
It was a pitiable site at the northwards end of Oba-Ose town on Owo-Ikare Road where a Lagos bound 18- Passenger commercial bus ran into another bus on the fleet of Peace Mass Transit which parked to give way for a heavy-duty articulated vehicle.
The unfortunate accident caught the attention of the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, whose convoy pulled-up on his order to rescue the victims.
The governor who was on road facility inspection tour to parts of Akoko area of the Northern Senatorial District of the state ordered that a bus on his convoy be made available to evacuate the ten victims of the accident to the Federal Medical Centre, Owo.
One of the passengers (name withheld) who narrated the incident said the trailer which was coming from Owo end of the road swarved on the Lagos bound bus which in turn brushed the parked bus .
Regrettably the driver of the trailer according to the passenger did not stop to help the injured passengers out of the wreckage until Governor Akeredolu got to the scene.
Other travellers who stopped to sympathise with the injured profusely commended Governor Akeredolu for the sympathy he showed the passengers of the two buses.
