Monarch, Religious leader, Market women, others commend Akeredolu over N550 Million Micro credit loan
The Olukare of Ikare, Oba Akadiri Momoh and the Chief Imam of Akure, Alhaji Yayi Akorede have commended Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, over the presentation of N550 Million micro – credit loan scheme for the empowerment of various groups and associations in the state.
They maintained that the loan would reduce poverty in the state and create more wealth among the people.
They also commended Akeredolu’s visionary and transformative leadership style which has impacted positively on the lives of people of the state.
They gave the commendation at the launch of Apalara Micro-Credit Scheme and presentation of the N550 Million cheques to owners of Mini, Micro and Small Medium Enterprises by the Governor at the MKO Abiola Democracy Park in Akure.
According to the Chief Imam of Akure, Alhaji Abdulhakeem Yayi-Akorede, the Governor’s benevolence is a divine intervention coming at a time when there was scarcity of fund everywhere.
The Chief Imam who stated that the loans would further alleviate poverty and create job opportunities, thanked the Governor for the emancipation of the people from poverty to wealth.
The Chairman, Council of Obas in Ondo State, Olukare of Ikare Land, Oba Akadiri Saliu Momoh also commended the gesture, saying that the initiative is an encouragement which will provide the opportunity to create jobs.
Also, applauding the Governor’s gesture, State Chairman, National Institute of Micro-Finance Banks, Mr Ohizemokhai Mascot said Akeredolu, through loan disbursement, has proved his undying love and determination to arrest poverty in the state.
“Don’t take the Governor’s kindness for granted. As you get this loan today, judiciously use it to expand your business and ensure you all pay back to enable the opportunity flow to other people”, he appealed to the beneficiaries.
Mr Eben Adegboyegun who spoke on behalf of the Ondo State Cooperative Federation described the Governor’s initiative as laudable and a new dawn in the state and appealed for its sustenance to completely phase out poverty in the state.
He tasked beneficiaries on timely repayment so as to encourage the Governor to continue the life-changing programme in the state.
Others who commended the Akeredolu-led administration included President, Market Traders Association in Ondo State, Chief (Mrs) Akinfemiwa Iwalola and Chairman of the state Board of Internal Revenue (BIR), Mr Tolu Adegbie.
Mrs Iwalola, while thanking Governor Akeredolu for his immense love for women in the state through various life-transforming avenues, promised the timely repayment of the loans and pledged the association’s continued support for the success of his administration.
On his own, BIR Chairman who was represented by Mr Segun Enikuomehin enjoined the beneficiaries to invest the loans wisely and reminded them to pay their taxes regularly to enable government continue its developmental projects going on across the state.
The President of the National Council of Women Societies (NCWS)in the state, Pastor Mrs. Jumoke Aboyade described the programme as a very unique one and a key to bring prosperity the lives of the women.
The President of Iya Alaje Iya Oloja of Ondo state, Mrs. Iwalola Adefemiwa noted the love of the governor for the women which she said is first if it’s kind.
